AUA Presents Children’s Book On Sickle Cell Anemia

Sickle Cell Anemia is a hereditary blood disorder that often afflicts people of African descent – including many Antiguan citizens. That’s why Dr. Edda Hadeed of Gambles Medical Center in St. Johns curated a children’s book on the subject called “My Friend Jen – A Little Different,” to educate young people about the disease. On September 26th, AUA presented seventy copies of this book to the Antiguan Ministry of Education. The donation was received by Dr. Clare Brown, Minister of Education, Science and Technology.
