Health Insurance and Other Benefits

The following information provides a very general overview of the benefits to which Full-Time employees of AUA may be entitled.

This general explanation is not intended to and does not provide all the details of the benefits. A detailed explanation of benefits may be obtained from the Human Resources Department.  For more complete information regarding any of our benefit programs, please direct your questions to the Human Resources Department.    

Health Dental & Vision Insurance

Eligible Full-Time employees may enroll in the AUA medical insurance plan upon satisfactory completion of their probationary period.  Full-Time employees are those employees that average 40 hours a week or more on a regular basis. Employees working less than 40 hours a week on a regular basis are Part-Time Employees and are not eligible for health insurance benefits.

AUA provides eligible employees with 100% of the Employee Only monthly premium towards health insurance Employees may elect to cover their spouse and or dependents. Employees who elect coverage other than “Employee Only” are responsible for paying the difference in the monthly premium from the “Employee Only” base plan rate and their election through payroll deduction.

AUA Medical Clinic-Effective June 2014

Employees may access health care services from the AUA Clinic located on campus. Appointments may be necessary and employees are required to abide by all AUA Clinic policies and procedures. The clinic extension is 1562.

Life Insurance

Full-time employees are eligible for life insurance on the first day of the month following the completion of their probationary period.

The benefit is $50,000 EC. The cost of this insurance is paid by the University.
