DAWN ROBERTS, MA – DIRECTOR FOR WELLNESS & INCLUSION

Dawn Roberts is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. Dawn earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware with concentrations in Human Resources and Economics and her Master of Arts with honors in Applied Sociology. She is Nonprofit and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) certified. While earning her master’s, she researched the causes of the attrition of underrepresented minority students. She has many years of medical education experience, working in many different capacities in student affairs, advising, leadership training, engagement, residency applications (career advising), policy, and program development, as well as in diversity and outreach.

Dawn worked within AUA’s Education Enhancement Department for several years as an Academic Advisor and Instructor before she began her stent in Wellness and Inclusion. She is passionate about creating a campus environment that is warm and welcoming to all and providing students with assistance on issues beyond academics. When life situations impact student academics, she can provide information on handling academic/life balance, referrals to other departments, island, and AUA resources, consultations on short-term and extended leaves of absence, and assistance in resolving demanding situations. She also provides wellness programming, including fitness and dance classes, hiking, social activities, diversity workshops, the relaxation room, and much more. She works closely with Dr. Kimberly Mallin, who serves as the Director of the AUA Health Clinic at the Wellness Centre.
