AUA students Heela Azizi, Alexa Kahn, Sherina Langdon, and Dina Rimawi co-authored a paper that has been published in the International Journal of Innovative Research in Medical Science. The students worked under the direction of the Clerkship Director for Medical Students Education and Unit Chief and Attending Psychiatrist, Dr. Ayodeji Jolayemi, and Resident Physician at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Oluwole Jegede.<\/p>\n

The paper, \u201cThe Use of Stimulant Augmentation of Second-Generation Antipsychotics in the Management of Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia: A Case Report,<\/a>\u201d discusses their findings of a patient whose negative symptoms of schizophrenia improved during a 3-week trial of dopamine agonist augmentation of antipsychotic therapy. The findings indicate there may be potential benefits of using stimulant medications in treating negative symptoms of schizophrenia.<\/p>\n
