Recently, representatives of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin<\/a> (AAPI) visited AUA\u2019s campus to review its facilities, curriculum, and academic outcomes.<\/p>\n The verdict? According to the AAPI\u2014currently about 800,000 members strong throughout the United States\u2014AUA is a \u201cworld leader\u201d in medical education. We\u2019re honored to be the only medical school with this distinction from the AAPI.<\/p>\n According to Himanshu Pandya, MD\u2014the 2019 president of AAPI\u2019s Queens-Long Island chapter\u2014AUA has the tools, the curriculum, and the faculty to provide a world-class medical education.<\/p>\n \u201cCutting-edge facilities, distinguished faculty, and excellent clinical experiences prepare graduates to practice medicine throughout the United States and Canada,\u201d Dr. Pandya said. \u201c[The] amazing high-tech simulation lab is a perfect model for medical learning.\u201d<\/p>\n AUA received this honor based on a site visit by AAPI physicians and and medical educators; the success of AUA graduates<\/a> in obtaining residency positions; its faculty<\/a> and hospital affiliations<\/a>; and its numerous state and federal approvals<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re of Indian origin or descent and are interested in attending medical school at AUA, check out the AAPI Scholarship.
